Ruth Joslin

Obituary Ruth Joslin, 85, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on December 25, 2019 in Farmington, New Mexico. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with the Reverend Phillip Price of Calvary Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. Arrangements are by Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Ruth was born in Turkey, Texas to Archie and Pinkie Vanzant on April 15, 1934. She graduated high school in 1952 from Carlsbad High School. Ruth married Orville Joslin on May 30, 1954 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She worked as a legal secretary and bookkeeper for many years. Ruth was a founding member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. As a member of the church, for 68 years, she served in many capacities from board member to bookkeeper and numerous other volunteer positions. She was an accomplished seamstress, pianist and cookie maker. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Orville Joslin; granddaughter, Heather Joslin; parents, Archie and Pinkie Vanzant; brothers, Jim Vanzant, Gene Vanzant, Paul Vanzant. Ruth is survived by son, Randy Joslin and wife, Debbie of Farmington, NM; daughter, Pamela Patrick of Bremerton, WA; brother Charles Vanzant and wife Nancy of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Cleo Baxter and husband Al of Fort Meyers, FL; grandchildren, Nathan Patrick and wife, Brandi; Eric Joslin and wife, Nicole; Tiffany Kincaid and husband, Joshua; Lauren Patrick and Seth Joslin; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Jaxin, Zayne, Kolten and Oliver Ollie Patrick; Hayden and Ashton AJ Joslin; Connor and Sophia Kincaid. Pallbearers will be Nathan Patrick, Eric Joslin, Joshua Kincaid, Lauren Patrick, Seth Joslin, Scott Fitch and Caleb Price.
