Rudy Martinez Reyes

Rudy Martinez Reyes, 32, of North 8th Street, Loving, New Mexico passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Carlsbad Medical Center. Rudy was born on June 20, 1988, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Frank and Stella Reyes.

A celebration of life will take place at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 405 N. 8th Street, Loving, with Pastor Jimmy Tarvin officiating.

Rudy will be remembered as a loving/devoted husband, father, son and brother. Rudy had a big heart, and he was always just a phone call away from helping you out. Rudy had a beautiful smile and was always joking around. He enjoyed wrestling with his brothers, and it didn’t matter where they were. He loved his War Rig and teaching Isaiah and Keyna to drive. His favorite saying was “Lemme have it”. Rudy worked for McVay Drilling Co. for over 10 years. Rudy enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, swimming, gardening, cooking, shooting, listening to music and long conversations with his dad. Rudy was called by many names in addition to husband, father, son, brother; Righteous Rudy Reyes, Rudy McVay, and Lord of the Board. Rudy will always have a place in our hearts. He loved all and was loved by all.

Rudy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Luis and Micaela Reyes; maternal grandfather, Macario Martinez; father-in-law, Rejino Gonzalez; and best friend, Rusty Granado.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Desirae Reyes of Loving, NM; son, Isaiah Reyes of Albuquerque, NM; son, Oscar Granado of Loving, NM; son, Izayiha Granado of Loving, NM; daughter, Keyna Granado of Loving, NM; parents, Frank and Stella Reyes of Loving, NM; maternal grandmother, Juana Martinez of Pecos, TX; sister, Jaclyn Fierro and husband, Mario of Carlsbad, NM; brother, James Reyes of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Bridget Reyes and Adam Lara of Loving, NM; brother, Frank Reyes, Jr. of Loving, NM; sister, Michelle Greene of Odessa, TX; brother, Francisco T. Reyes and wife, Nancy of Odessa, TX; mother-in-law, Diana Cadwell and husband, John of Junction, TX; sister-in-law, Destiny Gonzalez and Eric McCormick; brother-in-law, Kevin Gonzalez and wife, Desirae; grandparents-in-law, Herman and Patsy Justice; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dog Neki.
