Ruby Grace Haas

Ruby Grace Haas, 94, of W. Francis Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, May 5, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with Rev. David W. Rogers, co-pastor of combined First Christian and First Presbyterian Churches, officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ruby Grace Haas was born September 25, 1921 in Oklahoma to George and Armenta (Davenport) Rogers. She moved to Odessa, Texas with her parents as a young girl where she graduated from high school and attended beauty college. Ruby married Carl Haas September 9, 1942 here in Carlsbad. She was able to be a stay at home mom and enjoyed taking care of all the home responsibilities. In later years, Ruby and Carl loved traveling. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Haas, Sr. and sisters: Georgie Freeman and Molly Amber. Survivors are her son, Carl Haas, Jr. and Marie Cook of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Jesse Haas of Las Cruces, NM, Gina Haas of Carlsbad, NM, Missy Granger of Carlsbad, NM and Debbie Cook of Carlsbad, NM; great-grandchildren: Randy and Brandon Meeker, Anthony and Lindsey Cox, Zenus Granger, Mark Cook, James Tidwell and Ivy Cook.; niece, Winifred Young; nephew, Lee Freeman, Jeanna Olberts and several other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jesse Haas, Carl Haas, Lee Freeman, Jimmy Young, Randy Meeker and Brandon Meeker. Honorary pallbearers are Keymo Granger and Greg Olberts.
