Ruby Jo Cox, 80, of Spruill Drive, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at Lakeview Christian Home.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Rusty Smith officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Ruby Jo Cox was born October 2, 1934 in Springville, Arizona to Alfred and Ethel (Hudson) Davis. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1952 and that year married Jay Cox. Ruby and Jay lived at the El Paso Natural Gas - Guadalupe Station 25 years and operated Jay's Shell Station over 15 years. After retiring they moved to Carlsbad and Ruby worked for CARC several years. She enjoyed oil painting, hunting for arrowheads and always had a joke to tell. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay Cox; son, Waylan Cox; brothers: Wayne and Vernon Davis; sisters: Ethel Anderson and LaVeta Culpepper.
Survivors are her sons: Arland Cox and wife, Stacy of Rocky Arroyo, NM, Alan Cox and wife, Renee of Del Rio, Texas; grandchildren: Cindy Phillips and husband, David, Robert Widener and wife, Patsy, Alana Chowaniec and husband, Scott, Jolene Curtis and husband, James, Zane Biebelle, W.R. Biebelle, JaDean Cox, Zach Cox; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Laurie Kincade, Jack Kincade, Bobby Warren, Garland Warren, Roger Cox, Kelley Cox and Raymond Anderson.
