Ruben S. Carrasco

 Ruben S. Carrasco, 60, of Carlsbad, NM passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2025 followed by a vigil at 6:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, February 28, 2025 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 

Ruben was born on June 14, 1964 in Eunice, NM to Ruben E. Carrasco and Maria de Jesus Salazar. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1982. Ruben worked in landscaping and construction throughout his life. He was known for his out going personality. Ruben enjoyed music, cooking and being outdoors.

 Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Fabian S. Carrasco. 

He is survived by his children, Derek Carrasco, Erik Carrasco, Jordane Carrasco, Vanessa Olivas, Bianca Olivas, Robert Olivas Jr., Stephanie Olivas, Anthony Olivas; 18 grandchildren;1 great-grandson; sisters: Viola McCormick, Patricia Rascon; brother, Philip Carrasco; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers: Erik Carrasco, Aubrey Carrasco, Emery Carrasco, Philip Carrasco, Enrique Gonzalez, Ricky Gonzalez.
