Ruben "Andy" Andres Romo

Ruben Andres "Andy" Romo, 84, of South Roselawn Street, Artesia, New Mexico, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at his home in Artesia, NM. Visitation will be Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, 1001 N. Canal Street, Carlsbad, NM. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, April 6, 2012 at Primeria Iglesia Bautista Church, 1009 5th Street N., Artesia, NM with Roby Zumwalt officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ruben Andres "Andy" Romo was born December 23, 1927 in Anton Chico, NM to Conception and Maria (Baca) Romo. His early years were spent in the oilfields. He was called into the ministry and served for more than 20 years. Andy enjoyed time with his family, playing the guitar and singing. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; nine sisters; grandson, Jimmy Whalen and granddaughter, Valerie Romo. Survivors are four children: Fred Romo and wife, Shari of Mora, NM, Terri Sally of Salinas, CA, Gilbert Romo and wife, Yolanda of Artesia, NM, JoAnne Romo of Artesia, NM; seven grandchildren: Adrian Romo, Aaron Romo, Joey Romo, Vanessa Romo, Olivia Rubalcaba, Gabriele Romo and Melanie Romo; five great-grandchildren: Adrianna Romo, Valerie Romo, Jade Romo, Jacob Rubalcaba, Andrew Rubalcaba; sister: Emma Olguin and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
