Roy Wayne Laney, 66, of South Lake Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Cremation will take place and there will be no services.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Roy Wayne Laney was born October 17, 1947 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Roy B. and Ruby (Miller) Laney-Boulware. Wayne worked for Pennsylvania Drilling Company for many years and later went to work for Phonix and Sessoms and was very instrumental in working at the Nevada test site and WIPP. He loved to play jokes and pranks on family and friends and he wrote poetry. Wayne's family and friends looked forward to their morning Dilbert and Pickles cartoons. Fly with the Angels Wayne. We Love You!!! He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Cindy Laney and nephew, Little Gene Bryan.
Survivors are daughter, Jana Laney; granddaughter, Ally Laney Orton; brother, Paul Laney and wife, Melissa; sister, Nita Laney-Saler and husband, Michael; nieces: Karen Laney, Heather Wilcox, April Jennings; nephews: Dale Laney, Billy Bryan, Beau Saler and several great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
Wayne was a giant man with a heart bigger than he was, and will be greatly missed.
