Obituary Roy G. Martinez, 77, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 17, 2018 at his home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM 5:00 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2017 at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, January 22, 2018 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Roy G. Martinez was born May 10, 1940 in Eden, Texas to Neeley and Juanita (Galvan) Martinez. He is survived by his loving companion of many years, Senona Nieto as well as many family and friends who will greatly miss his kindness and good humor. Pallbearers will be Manuel Nieto, Raul Nieto, Elias Nieto, Jesus Sotelo, Gerard Moran and Eric Moran.
