Roy D. Britton

Roy D. Britton, 72, of Sioux Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away June 6, 2021 at Lakeview Christian Home. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.

Roy was born January 6, 1949 in Gorman, Texas to William Dearld and Roella Gay (Rankin) Britton. He served his country in the US Marine Corp during Vietnam four years. Roy married Karen Stanley June 24, 1972 in Post, Texas. They moved to Carlsbad in 1976 and Roy began work at IMC. He worked in the potash mines until retiring in 2004. In the early years of retirement Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. He loved early morning coffee with his coffee buddies. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Britton and sister, Pam Richardson.
Survivors are his wife, Karen Britton; daughter, Melissa Britton and Charlie Culver; sons: Steven Britton and wife, Kathryn and Darrell Britton and wife, Christina; grandchildren: Connor Britton, Luke Britton and Charlotte Britton; brothers: Alfred Britton and wife, Klancie, Gayland Britton and wife, Teresa, Michael Britton; sister, Sue Leatherwood and numerous nieces and nephews.
