Rosie Lee Cravey

Rosie Lee Cravey, 87, former resident, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in Pflugerville, Texas. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Fox and Lake Church of Christ with Ray Young officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rosie Lee Cravey was born July 1, 1928 in Delwin, Texas to Ernest and Lometa (Burks) Harris. She graduated from Paducah High School in 1947 and received an associate's degree from Draughn's Business College. Rosie began work at GTE in 1953 in Paducah. She relocated to Carlsbad in 1956 where she continued working for GTE and retired after 37 years of service. Rosie married Garvis W. Cravey November 11, 1962 here in Carlsbad. She was a life time member of the Church of Christ and worshiped at Fox and Lake Church of Christ many years. Rosie enjoyed gardening, visiting with family and friends and always looked forward to family reunions. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garvis Cravey; sister, Marie Eudey and brother, Charles Harris. Survivors are her son, Delton Cravey and wife, Gloria of Cedar Park, Texas; daughter, Gaytha Cravey of Pflugerville, Texas; grandchildren: Jennifer Cravey, Scott Cravey, Patrick Carreon and William Carreon; siblings: Edward Harris of Carlsbad, NM, Ernestine Bryan and husband, Tommie of Carlsbad, NM, Billie Harris and wife, Anita of Wilson, OK, Lena Cooper and husband, Willis of Mesa, AZ, Raymond Harris of Carlsbad, NM, Shirley Crabb and husband, Bill of Carlsbad, NM, Johny Harris and wife, Linda of Carlsbad, NM, Larry Harris and wife, Debbie of Carlsbad, NM, Roger Harris of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
