Rose Marie Straub Stresemann, 71, of Cimarron Trail, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at her daughter's home in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A vigil is scheduled for 3:30 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tony Dominguez reciting. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 15, 2015, 10:00 AM, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rose Marie Straub Stresemann was born March 31, 1944 in Washington, Indiana to George William and Mildred Julia (Love) Carrico. She moved to Carlsbad as a child with her parents and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1962. Rose married her high school sweetheart, John Straub on June 30, 1962. They lived in numerous states while John was in the US Air Force and later returned to Carlsbad. John died in 1981 after 19 years of marriage. Rose married Dale Stresemann in June of 1990. Rose later cherished the years she was able to keep all six of her grandchildren while their parents worked. In more recent years she loved her job as teacher assistant at ECEC. After retiring, Rose treasured the years spend with Bud O'Donnell as they traveled and enjoyed life together. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: John Straub and Dale Stresemann. Survivors are her children: Johnna Hernandez and husband, Jessie of Lubbock, TX, Scott Straub of Carlsbad, NM; Sherry Day and husband, Daryl of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Ryan Stephens, Parker Stephens, Chelsea Straub, Hannah Straub, Kalin Day, Garret Day; great-granddaughter, Emma Rose DelaCruz; companion, Bud O'Donnell; brother, George Carrico and wife, Jane of Loogootee, ID; sister, Mary Carrico of Carlsbad, NM and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ryan Stephens, Parker Stephens, Garret Day, Daryl Day, Jessie Hernandez and Tim Stephens. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lubbock, 1120 Slide Road, Space 3, Lubbock, TX 79416 or Mission Carlsbad, c/o First United Methodist Church, 207 N.
