Obituary Rose Marie Mitchell, 91 of West Pierce St., Carlsbad, NM passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 Presbyterian Hospice. A rosary will be recited Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 7:00 PM with visitation from 5:00- 7:00 PM at Denton -Wood Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, November 26, 2018 at 10:30 at St. Edwards Catholic Church, Father Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM Denton- Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement. Rose Maria Mitchell (Supina) was born to John Supina and Francis Talik Supina on February 14, 1927 in Strawn, Texas. The family moved to Carlsbad where she graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1944. Rose Maria completed her nursing degree in El Paso, TX and was a member of the Cadet Nurse Program. After graduation Rose Marie returned to Carlsbad where she worked as a surgical nurse at St. Francis Hospital and a night supervisor at Memorial Hospital until she married Arnult Mitchell Jr. on May 14, 1949 at St. Edwards Catholic Church where they remained active members. In 1967 she joined her husband in the family business, Mayflower Moving Agency and then Radio Shack and Mitchells Music. Rose Marie was a Campfire Leader and active with her childrens schooling. She retired with Arnult in 1984. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, sewing and her grandchildren. Rose Marie was a member of nurses association pilot club, past president of Altrussa Club of Carlsbad, Secretary and treasurer for 7 years for Jonahs House, Catholic Daughters of America, Altar Society, Assistant State Director of Good Sams New Mexico and a member of Caveman Sams. Rose Marie was proceeded in death by Arnult; her parents; sister LaVerne Bernard, son-in-law Danny Joe Lyle; granddaughter Rebecca Lyle and niece and close friend Fran Bertagonlli. She is survivied by her children Linda Mitchell Lyly of Albuquerque NM; Ginger Mitchell (George Brown) Denver, Co; Sharon Theresa Mitchell (Mitchael Moriarty) Boise Idaho; Paul Mitchell (Genevieve Mitchell) Albuquerque NM; George Mitchell, Hobbs, NM; Maryanne Carter (Jim Carter) Littleton, CO, 18 Grand children, 19 great grand children, 3 great great grand children.
