Obituary
Rosalinda M. Arnold, 67, of Midland, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020, in San Antonio, Texas. Rosalinda was born on January 8, 1953, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Sipriano and Lydia Mata.
Rosalinda was very caring and quite spirted in nature, and enjoyed music. She loved the outdoors and sports. She also enjoyed and loved spending time with her family. And loved her pets.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be a visitation Tuesday, January 26, 2021, from 7:00am-9:00am at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel for family and friends to pay their last respects. Following, there will be a private Rosary and Funeral Mass at San Jose Catholic Church, concluding at Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Rosalinda was preceded by her father, Sipriano Mata; mother, Lydia Mata; fourteen siblings; and grandson, Adrian Fierro.
Rosalinda is survived by her daughter, Michele Flores and husband Tracy. Five grandchildren: Christopher Fierro, Mia Trevino, Cristal Trevino, Jayden Flores, and Angelina Flores. Lifelong partner and friend, Gloria Olguin of Midland, TX; brothers: Adan Venegas (wife-Pat) and Delfin Mata (wife-Vada); sisters: Helen Mata, Eva Salcido, and Tecla Valencia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosalinda graduated from Carlsbad High School. She was a Seismographer, an airplane riveter for Aero Corporation in Florida. She received her business degree from NMSU-Las Cruces, and her bachelors degree at NMSU-Carlsbad. She also had a restaurant in Midland, TX. Rosalinda worked at the Eddy County Detention Center as a cook. And was an entrepreneur.
