Rosalba Garrett Carrasco, 70, of Ash Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Monday, July 27, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Monday, July 27, 2015, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2015, 11:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rosalba Garrett Carrasco was born November 14, 1944 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to Ismael and Juana (Gutierrez) Cortes. She moved to the states in 1974. Rosalba and Nicholas moved to Carlsbad in 1975. She was an active member at San Jose Catholic Church and enjoyed working with Landsun and the Adult Day Care. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nicolas A. Carrasco, Sr., infant son, John Garrett; brothers Marcos and Moises Cortes. Survivors are her son, Nick Carrasco, Jr. and wife, Misty; step-children: Frances Galindo and husband, Gilbert, Robert Carrasco and wife, Mary, Gloria Galindo and husband, Antonio, Dora Howell and husband, Tom, Benny Carrasco; grandchildren: Isabelle and Danielle Carrasco and numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Bertha Gutierrez, Alejandro Salcido, Maria Elena Gonzalez, Teresa Villesor, Rosario Cortes, Patricia Cortes; brother, Ismael Cortes and numerous nieces and nephews.
