Ronald Arthur Przeslak (also known as Old Man, Pops, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle Ronski and Wilson), 82, of Carlsbad, left his earthly body and gained his wings on Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at his home with his wife and daughter at his side. He could be a stubborn old man, but if he loved you, you knew it. So as in life, so were his final wishes on his terms. Cremation has taken place with no service planned. Arrangements are in the care of Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Ron was born Jan. 15, 1942, in Bay City, Michigan, to Joseph A. and Helen E. (Osterhout) Przeslak. He lucked out and gained the love of Linda Jeanne VanTol and they were married on March 15, 1965, in Bay City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and provided for his family working as a machine operator for General Motors for more than 25 years. He retired in 1993 and moved to Carlsbad to be closer to his son and grandsons. In retirement, he enjoyed watching television and working in his yard. He was a jack of all trades and well known among his family and friends for coming up with contraptions to make his life and the lives of those around him easier. He loved his family, never met a stranger, and always had a joke to share.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Janet Reid and Sue Wodkowski; brother, Joseph "Jack" Przeslak; and his son, Ronald C. Przeslak. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda, of Carlsbad; daughter, Carrie Przeslak of Lubbock, Texas; grandsons, Ben (Sabra) Przeslak and Keegan Przeslak of Carlsbad; granddaughter, Maggie Ketzeback; daughter-in-law, Lisa (Bill) Ketzeback of Cloudcroft; great-grandson, Luke Ronald Przeslak; granddog, Sugar (Suggie) Przeslak of Lubbock; and "adopted" daughter, LeAnda Staebner of South Dakota.
