It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Marcus Fisk, on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the age of 77.
Cremation has taken place.
Ron was the youngest son born to Marcus and Agnes (Golden) Fisk near Flint, Michigan on June 6, 1947. Ron was born with a developmental disability due to issues during birth, yet he never let those obstacles keep him from living as normal a life as possible. Ron loved working around the farm at a young age. He would spend time in the vegetable and flower gardens with his mother and loved to see his plants bloom and grow. Ron would spend endless hours at the piano where he could play anything by ear after hearing it once or twice. He often played at gatherings and church, he had both an organ and piano at home where he would play with family members who were all musically gifted. In his downtime he loved listening to an old transistor radio or watching Gunsmoke. When he was able, he enjoyed visiting his niece in Kentucky and riding the “jet” plane to Nashville. When traveling became a burden, he looked forward to having them visit him in Carlsbad for the holidays.
In his 30’s Ron would become one of the first clients to move into group living at CARC, Inc.. During his time at CARC, and later Washington Ranch, Ron would lead a happy and fulfilling life active in Special Olympics, working at the greenhouses and later becoming a regular at Rainbow Recycling. His sweet smile is pictured on the back of one of the recycling trucks that drives around Carlsbad collecting paper. He is in a picture that shows, his signature thumbs up. He had many friends, both with residents and staff over the years and was well loved by everyone. Everyone that met Ron will remember his boisterous and infectious laugh.
Ron’s sweet personality and uncontrollable “giggle box” will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Herb Fisk; sister, Gloria Fuller.
He is survived by his niece, Kathleen Fuller-Duvall (Kenneth) of Bowling Green, KY and his grand-nieces and nephews.
At the request of his niece, in lieu of flowers please make a donation to CARC, Inc in Ron’s name to PO Drawer 1808, Carlsbad, NM 88221. Donations can also be made directly to carcinc.org.
