Robert "R. Moshe Ben Yochanon" Johnson (aka "The Naked Rabbi" to those closest to him), 44, of East Fiesta, Carlsbad, NM, passed on early Tuesday morning peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones. His wisdom, knowledge, understanding, humor and physical abilities touched many people, whether they knew him from the mines, as a carpenter/builder, as a preacher or as a Biblical Hebrew Teacher. Robert avoided recognition for his volunteer work with Habitat For Humanity, preferring to leave the glory to his Heavenly Father.
Robert is survived by his wife, Kimberly Johnson, and children, Solomon Johnson, Heather Johnson and Hayley Nelson; his mother, Mary Ann Johnson; his brother, Jack Alan Johnson; his sisters, Vicki Lynn Renfroe and Anna Marie Bruner; his parents-in-law Robert and Marilyn Lewis and the multitude whose lives he touched.
The family would like to thank Robert's loving care givers and staff of Golden Services, as well as his recent caregivers at Carlsbad Medical Center, for all their efforts to help Robert and for their support. Special thanks to Lisa Lewis for giving her whole heart to helping care for Robert and for all the prayers and support of Kehilla Yeshua, friends and extended family.
At Robert's request, his family and friends will be celebrating his life with song, dance and memories this Sunday, November 21, 2010, 1:00-6:00pm at Washington Ranch.
As Robert would say, "Have a beautiful and blessed day!"
