Robert L. Torres

Robert L. Torres, 82, of North 12th Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 13, 2010 at University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Robert L. Torres was born in Sabinal, New Mexico on May 29, 1928. Robert served his country proudly in WWII. He was proud to be a Veteran and often spoke of serving in the Philippine Islands. He married Ethel Muniz on May 4, 1957. He started a construction business in Albuquerque and relocated to Carlsbad in 1974 where he continued to operate his business. Robert was known for helping many people and enjoyed doing many types of construction jobs. He was preceded in death by his parents: Victor Torres and Ursula (Lopez) Torres; brothers: Andy Torres, Victor Torres, Fred Torres, Daniel Torres and one sister, Rose Lobato. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Torres of Carlsbad; daughter, Brina Csombok of Temple, Texas; son, Daniel Torres of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Manuel Romero, Sarah Torres and Joseph Garza and two great-grandchildren: Logan and Anita.
