Robert Cooke, Jr

Robert Cooke, Jr., 65, of W. Luckey Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Cremation will take place after the visitation. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Robert Cooke, Jr. was born August 23, 1950 in East Chicago, Indiana to Robert Earl and Betty (Franco) Cooke, Sr. He married Vicky Neeley April 11, 1970 in Crown Point, Indiana. They moved to Carlsbad in the spring of 1977 and Robert began work in the potash mines. He worked in the east facility over 35 years, retiring from Intrepid Potash. Robert enjoyed the outdoors and always looked forward to spending time at his place in Queen. Survivors are his wife, Vicky Cooke; son, Robert Cooke, III and wife, Renee Briones of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Cara Cooke and husband, Charles Fannin, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Clayton Cooke, Cody Cooke, Sabrina Fannin, Charles Fannin, III, Mason Sillas, Peyton Sillas; great-grandchildren: Charlie Joe Cole and Braelynn Cooke; brother, Thomas Cooke and wife, Betty of Shipshewana, Indiana and numerous nieces and nephews.
