Robert "Bob" Osborne, Sr., 88, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 4, 2016 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Monday, September 12, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Robert "Bob" Osborne, Sr. was born December 10, 1927 in Amhersdale, West Virginia to Charlie and Minnie Mae (Brooks) Osborne. He worked in the coal mines for 18 years then moved to Carlsbad in 1960. Bob worked for AMAX Potash Mines as a mechanic for 29 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Elks, Good Sams and Los Amigos. Bob attended First United Methodist Church. He worked for the community kitchen. Bob loved to dance and enjoyed walking. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esther Mae Mace Osborne; sisters: Juanita Harvey and Darlene Crabtree and brother, Charles Osborne.
Survivors are his sons: Robert Osborne, Jr. and wife, Estela of Carlsbad, NM, Jerry Osborne of Atlanta, Texas; daughters: Barbara Vanlandingham of Carlsbad, NM, Elsie Clayton and husband, Dennis of Edgewood, NM; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
