Rita C. Kezar

Rita C. Kezar, 69, former Loving resident, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, October 14, 2011 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2011, 3:00 PM, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Lawson officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rita C. Kezar was born June 4, 1942 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to George and Angeline (Jentgen) Fischer. She married Fredrick A. Kezar on July 25, 1961 in Rhode Island. After living in Iowa for several years, they moved to Loving, New Mexico in 1976. Rita worked for the Post Office for over 25 years, retiring as Post Master of the Loving Post Office in 2002. After retiring, Fred and Rita moved to Cloudcroft where they built their home. She enjoyed bird watching and quilting. Rita loved spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Ann Ballard; brothers, Edward "Buddy" Fischer, Virgil Fischer, and Raymond Fischer. Survivors include her husband, Fred A. Kezar of Cloudcroft, NM; two daughters: Carolyn Caudill and husband, Carroll of Carlsbad, NM, Patty Hunt and husband, Johnny of Chandler, OK; son, Fred Kezar, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Lake Arthur, NM; four grandchildren: Brent Hunt, Richard Hunt, Misty Davis, and Kiah Caudill; three great-grandchildren: Adlee Hunt, Braylee Hunt, and Wyatt Hunt; siblings: Flora Jeanette Verhines, William Fischer, Geraldine Burrhus, Loretta Sughrue, Kenneth Fischer, John Fischer, Joseph Lawrence Fischer, and Ronald David Fischer and numerous nieces and nephews.
