Ricky L Rogers

Ricky L. Rogers, 53, of W. Bonbright, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away March 21, 2011 at his home. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2011, 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 25, 2011, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Family Fellowship with Pastor Michael Lee and Pastor Rick Ketterling officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ricky L. Rogers was born December 9, 1957 to Albert "Junior" Cotner and Donna Jean Davis. Ricky graduated with the class of 1977 from Carlsbad High School. He and Lori V. Wright were married in Carlsbad. He worked at Amax and then Mosaic, until 2007. His hobbies included playing his guitar and singing in church, tending to his fish pond; his greatest passion was spending time with his grandkids. "Poppy" is greatly loved and will be missed by all. Survivors include his spouse: Lori V. Rogers of Carlsbad, NM; daughter: Bambi Settle and husband, Tyson of Carlsbad, NM; son: Cutter Rogers and wife, Krista of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughters: Charlea Meekins, Joi Settle and Kenzie Rogers; grandsons Chuck Rogers and Chase Rogers; mother: Donna Jean Rogers of Brownwood, Texas; sisters: Brenda Lester of West Virginia, Val Parlow of Arizona, Linda Downie of Arkansas, Karla Early of Missouri, Sheila Layton of Missouri, Anita McVay of Missouri and Sherry Cotner Smith of Tennessee; brothers: Johnny Ray Cotner of Arkansas and Robert Foster of Tennessee; step-sister: Diane Wells of Carlsbad, NM; step-brothers: Jeff Rogers and Jimmy Wray of Carlsbad, NM; and extended other family members including numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Michael Whitaker, Jim Fry, Cutter Rogers, Glenn Treadaway, Rocky Johnson and Dennis Blood.
