Ricky Ray Lemon was born December 1, 1948 to Arvel and Geraldine Lemon in Vernon, TX. At age one his family moved to Carlsbad, NM. He was preceded in death by his dear father, Arvel Lemon and step-daughter, Crystal Lynn.
Survivors include the love of his life, Sandra G. Lemon of their home; mother, Geraldine Lemon of Elk City, OK; mother-in-law, Betty L. Bird of Carlsbad, NM; sister Patricia (Leonard) Gunsolus of Elk City, OK; one brother; one daughter; one son; grandsons: Avery and Riley Langton of Gilbert, AZ, Clay Lemon of Carlsbad, NM; special nephew, Mark Lemon and family Mandy, Josh and Brandy of Carrolton, TX and Danny Gunsolus of Elk City, OK.
In his younger years he was an avid hunter and a star baseball pitcher in high school. He was a member of the Carlsbad Elks Lodge 1558 for 38 years and a fantastic wood worker and loved spending time in his shop "fixing things." He worked 32 years at the Potash Mines. His dear wife recently designed and had their home built especially for him. Our home is in memory of him.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place, per his wishes.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Carlsbad Cemetery Pavillion.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
