Ricardo "Ricky" Gonzalez, 54, of Presidio Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A vigil is scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2017, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, February 18, 2017, 11:00 AM, at St. Edward Catholic Church with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ricardo "Ricky" Gonzalez was born August 9, 1962 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. His favorite hobby was his collection of Hot Wheels and darts. Ricky was an animal lover and his favorite cat was Patches. He was very compassionate and always helped anyone in need. Ricky enjoyed fishing, watching his grandsons play ball and spending time with family, which he loved very much. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Rene Gonzalez; father, Rejino Gonzalez, Jr.; his maternal and paternal grandparents and granddaughter, Vanessa Rose Venegas. Survivors are his wife, Isabel Venegas Gonzalez of Carlsbad, NM; sons: Abraham Venegas of Carlsbad, NM, Carlos Venegas, Jr. of Casper, Wyoming; daughter, Julia Venegas of Carlsbad, NM; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; parents: George and Maria Dobson of Carlsbad, NM; brothers: Ruben Gonzalez of Carlsbad, NM, Gino Gonzalez of Las Vegas, Nevada and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Abraham C. Venegas, Silvester D. Rueda, IV, Cruz Melendrez, Rene Gonzalez, Jr., Jerry Armendarez and Paul Ray Rivera. Honorary pallbearers are Martin Armendarez, Alvin Rodriguez, Augustine Venegas, Jesus Armendarez, Jr., Daniel Munoz, Carlos Venegas, III and Cody Rutherford.
