Raymond F. Calanche

Raymond F. Calanche, 52, of North Mesquite Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 21, 2010 at University Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday January 24, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Sunday, January 24, 2010, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, January 25, 2009, 2:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Raymond F. Calanche was born January 4, 1958 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Manuel B. and Alicia (Fierro) Calanche. He married Terrie Moreno on August 22, 1980 here in Carlsbad. Raymond served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Agri-Empressa for 22 years. Raymond also worked for Landsun Homes until he became ill. Raymond always enjoyed the time with his family which included cook-outs, music, and especially time with his granddaughters. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys an the LA Lakers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alicia Calanche and mother-in-law, Eva Moreno. Survivors include his wife, Terrie Calanche of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Lisa Calanche of Carlsbad, NM; son, Raymond Calanche, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; father, Manuel Calanche; father-in-law, Benny Moreno of Carlsbad, NM; three grandchildren, Tiersa, Laiyana and Sincere Longchase; three brothers: Danny Calanche and wife, Rachel of Carlsbad, NM, Joe Calanche of Tucson, AZ, Andy Calanche and wife, Donna of Carlsbad, NM and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Cruz Melendrez, III his Godson, Cruz Melendrez, Jr., Chris Melendrez, Mark Moreno, James Moreno and Sudden Longchase. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
