Ray R. Castillo, 39, of Ferndale, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas.
A vigil is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel, with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Ray R. Castillo was born on January 9, 1973, in Carlsbad, NM, to Rafael and Virginia (Rodriguez) Castillo. He liked hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family. Ray loved to make people laugh and smile. He had a good heart and he will be remembered for this and missed for all the things that made him "Ray". He was so proud when he received his GED and later obtained his CDL license. Ray was previously employed at I & W prior to his illness, and worked many years at CARC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Jeannie Castillo. He will be missed so much and will forever remain in our hearts. "We love you."
Survivors are his wife, Michelle Rene Castillo of Carlsbad, NM; children: Chelsie Castillo of Carlsbad, NM, Mark Castillo of Ohio, and Kathryn Michelle Castillo of Carlsbad, NM; sisters: Sylvia Gonzalez, Mary Lou Murrillo and Husband, Toby, Vera Ramirez and husband, Chris, Elva Castillo and husband, Fred Rodriguez; grandsons: Casey Wyatt "Paco" Hedrick, Colton Ryder Hedrick; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and extended family who loved him dearly; father and mother-in-law, Art and Beverly Hernandez.
Pallbearers will be Abel Gonzalez, Lionel Cerna, Miguel Orona, Toby Murillo, Fred Rodriguez and Chris Ramirez.
