Ray C. Garis, Sr., 77, of Walter Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away May 25, 2010 at his home.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Graveside Services are scheduled for Friday, May 28, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with Chaplain Ed Kneeland officiating.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Ray C. Garis, Sr. was born July 6, 1932 to William and Anna Garis. After graduating he served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Ray worked above ground at the potash mines until retiring in 1994. He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Mary Jo Garis.
He is survived by his wife, Margie S. Garis of Carlsbad, NM; son, Ray C. Garis, Jr. and wife, Patricia of Victoria, TX, daughter, Marilyn Garis of Albuquerque, NM, Kevin Tisdell and fiance, Jessica Williamson of Wolfforth, TX; four grandchildren: Ray C. Garis, III, Christopher Ray Garis, Elly Miksch, Norman Shatto; three great-grandchildren: Dawn Garis, Lily Garis, Logan Garis and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
