Raul Gutierrez

Raul Gutierrez, 61, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on December 16, 2022 surrounded by his children and those he loved deeply.

Raul was one of six children born to Pedro and Ramona Gutierrez of California.  He was born on March 16, 1961 in Weslaco, Texas.  Raul is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Ramona Gutierrez, and his sister, Ofelia Gonzales.  He is survived by his children: Victoria Gutierrez and wife, Amber, Shania Gutierrez and companion, David Gonzalez, Jr., Elijah Nieto and companion Roberta; granchildren: Kehlani, Calliope and Ralphie; sister, brothers, nieces, nephews and a very large extended family.

Raul was kind-hearted, loving, a jokester and adventurous to say the least.  He loved taking his children on trips from camping and hiking to amusement parks with giant rollercoasters – anywhere that had some kind of history, he was there.  Raul was very good at making connections with people.  With 40+ years working in retail, he had learned how to make lifetime friends wherever he went.  His last years of life were spent with his children and their families.  Raul will be remembered for his love of gift giving, especially to his grandchildren.  The greatest gift he gave are all the memories and lessons taught throughout the years.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, December 23, 2022 at Word of Life Church.  All friends and family are welcome to join and pay respects.
