Priscilla C. “Pat” Santillan, 73, of N. 8th Street, Loving, NM, passed away May 13, 2021 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Cremation has taken place and private services will be held. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Pat was born April 17, 1948 in Belen, NM and was raised by her grandparents, Christine and Thomas Kee. She attended numerous schools including Holbrook School and Snowflake School in Arizona, and Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma, where she had to ride a bus since there were no schools on the Reservation. Pat took great pride in her Navajo heritage. She met Sylvester Santillan in Albuquerque where they lived several years before making their home in Loving, NM. They were happily married for 51 years. Pat never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone with open arms and made sure no one ever left her home with an empty stomach. It’s been said by her grandchildren that Pat made the best eggs they’ve ever had. She was a strong woman and the most precious blessing to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Survivors are her husband, Sylvester Santillan of Loving; sons: Eric Santillan of Loving and Matthew Santillan and Lexie Wright of Loving; daughters: Sheila Martinez and husband, Robin of Loving, Carmen Madrid and husband, Steven of Loving and Crystal Heath and husband, John of Carlsbad; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; grandpuppy, Maverick and grandkitty, Harley; siblings: Mary Keedah of Indian Wells, Dan Wayne and wife, Laverne of Phoenix, Martha Shirley and husband, Stanley of Parker, Delmar Wayne of Jeddito, Delbert Wayne of Parker and Davis Wayne and wife, Margie of Dilkon, AZ.
