Priscilla Ann Gonzales

Priscilla Ann Gonzales, 59, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Priscilla was born on April 8, 1964, in Carlsbad, NM to Gilbert and Nazaria Sosa.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM.

Priscilla grew up having a good work ethic and a great sense of humor. She always knew how to get the job done, and to make sure everyone had a smile and laughter at all times. She was the family social coordinator, and always had everyone over for holidays and special occasions. She always had the best decorations, and her favorite two holidays were Christmas and the Fourth of July. Priscilla loved to cook, listen to oldies music, cheer on her Green Bay Packers, and to sing karaoke. Most of all, she loved Jesus and her family. Priscilla’s legacy of caring and loving for others will live on in each person who knew her. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.  

Priscilla was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert H. Sosa, Sr.; mother, Nazaria (Ruiz) Sosa; and two siblings: Michael A. Sosa and Naomi Smith.

Priscilla is survived by her husband, Joe Gonzales of Carlsbad, NM; son, Michael Garcia of Carlsbad, NM; three siblings: Pauline Olivares of Phoenix, AZ; Gilbert R. Sosa Jr. and wife, Sandra of Killeen, TX; and Peggy Mendoza and husband, Thomas of Carlsbad, NM; twenty-seven nieces and nephews; thirty-nine great nieces and nephews; and three great great nieces and nephews; and numerous other extended family members.
