Phyllis Nadine Beaver 80, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2024, at Goodlife Assisted Living in Carlsbad NM. Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2024, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Price of Calvary Assembly of God officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery.

Phyllis was born December 21, 1943, to Orville E. Burton and Elma A. Brumfield in Kistler, West Virginia. She was raised and educated in Mann, West Virginia before moving to Carlsbad, NM in 1960. She met the love of her life and married William "Bill" Leroy Beaver on November 9, 1961, until his passing February 16, 2000.

Phyllis lived in Carlsbad for 67 years where she worked at Surplus City, Safeway, Carlsbad Schools, sold Home Interior and owned Hawaiian Tans. After closing Hawaiian Tans, she started to do what she loved most: spending time with family, shopping, dancing, and going on 56-hour annual Christmas shopping trips with daughters, Priscilla and Patrilla, decorating every room in her house for Christmas, going on cruises, traveling to see family in Ohio and Pennsylvania and making several long-distance trips with our very special family friend Mary Howell. Before passing, she resided at Goodlife Assisted Living where she met her special friend William "Bill" Mosier who showed her unconditional love and brought happiness to her life. 

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Leroy Beaver; daughter, Priscilla Rhodes; her parents: Elma and Orville Burton, and 12 siblings. 

She is survived by her daughter, Patrilla Wright and husband, Tracy of Hobbs; brother, Billy Burton and wife, Clara of Ohio; sister, Debi Vasser and husband, Ed of Idaho; brother, Mike Burton and wife, Debbie of Ohio; grandkids: Brandon Rhodes and wife, Alice of Carlsbad, Jason Rhodes of Carlsbad, Justin Neeld and wife, Linsey of Seminole TX, Blake Neeld and wife, Brittney of Hobbs, Chad Wright and wife, Stephanie of Hobbs, Dustyn and wife, Allison of Hobbs; great-grandkids: Destiny and Braylie Neeld, Ella, Lilly and Brady Rhodes, Kelbi Edwards, Hunter and Conner Wright, Presley and Chisum Wright, Destiny Therrian; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends: Mary Howell and Carol Martinez.
