Phillip M. Lujan, 35, former resident, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at his home in Spring, Texas. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 30, 2024 at San Jose Catholic Church, Carlsbad, with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Phillip was born July 26, 1989 in Carlsbad, NM to Mike and Linda (Granger) Lujan. He graduated from Loving High School in 2007. Phillip worked several jobs here in Carlsbad before moving to Houston in 2016. He graduated from Texas Barber College and obtained his license in 2023. Phillip was known for his compassionate spirit and was always willing to help his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking and spending time admiring the New Mexico sunsets. Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents: Harry and Erminia Granger and Adon and Carmen Lujan.
Survivors are his parents: Mike and Linda Lujan; brothers: David Lujan, Joshua Lujan and wife, Amanda; sister, Valerie Orozco and husband, Ivan; nephew, D.J.; nieces: Jaylene, Justine, Bella, Mona, Ava, and Mila, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be David Lujan, Gabriel Lujan, Daniel Lopez, Edward “Jr.” Calderon, Kodie Rios, Abel Vasquez, Xavier Chacon, and Matthew Chavez. Honorary pallbearers are William Alicea and LaKyeemo Granger.
