Peggy Ruth "P.R." Brannon, 74, of Alamosa Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Lakeview Christian Home.
There will be no public visitation, cremation will take place.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Veilleux and J. C. Cunningham officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Peggy Ruth "P.R." Brannon was born September 26, 1940 in Dadeville, AL to John and Mildred (Findley) Trammell. While raising her children, they had the opportunity to live in Dakar, Senagal; Canary Islands; Spain; Singapore and visited many other countries. She moved to Loving in 1973 and soon after began work at CR Anthony's. P.R. went to work at Collin Gerrells in 1976 where she "measured inseams" and dressed many of the men in and around Carlsbad. She married J. C. "Honey" Brannon in 1980. At age 48 she got her GED and started school at NMSU-C for nursing. In 1991 P.R. went to work at Lakeview Christian Home as a CNA while finishing her nursing degree. She was passionate in taking care of her "little people" on West Wing until her fall in May of 2014. Even then, P.R. still managed to go feed the residents at Lakeview when she was able. P.R. loved animals and her biggest joy was all her dogs: Krissy, Dusty, D.D., Gracie, Max, Mollie and Sarge. She loved her church family at Sunset Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.C. "Honey" Brannon and sister, Jerri Carol Stanley.
Survivors are her children: Byron Ray Hurston and wife, Michelle of Andrews, TX, Tonya Lynn Lucero and husband, Mike of Las Cruces, NM, Tommy Lynn Worsham and wife, Bev of Clifton, CO; grandchildren: Melissa Jo Baca, Ginger Royster, Frances Hurston, Jared Worsham; great-grandchildren: Sydni, Avri, Jerico, Linken, Robbie; sisters: Martha Pettinger of Midland, TX, Jane Carter of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; brother, DeValle Trammell and wife, DeLynn of Midland, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and many many friends.
