Paul J. Robinson, 75, of East Farris Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Paul J. Robinson was born July 3, 1940 in Rochester, New York to Leonard and Leona (Anderson) Robinson. He attended school in Grease, New York. Paul joined the US Coast Guard at age 17 and retired after 20 years of service as a Boatsman Mate. He ran a tug boat on the Great Lakes several years before moving to Carlsbad in 1979. Paul worked for Cavern City Music which he later bought and ran until his second retirement in 1989. He married Judy on September 28, 1988 here in Carlsbad. Paul enjoyed flying, repairing antique clocks and dune buggies. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 1558 and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy. Survivors are his brother, David Robinson and wife, Mary of Rochester, NY; nephew: David P. Robinson; niece: Kristen Hauck and husband, William; step-daughters: Belinda Colorado, Kerri Cooper, Donnetta Campos, Carletta Kirkes and Trina Lee; close friends: C. W. "Bill" McCroskey, Kayla Mitchell, Jack Blanchard and Tom Mathis. Memorial contributions may be made to United Way of Carlsbad, 116 S.
