Paul Hodges

Paul M. Hodges, 88, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away August 10, 2023 at Goodlife Assisted Living.  Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, August 18, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Plumlee officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.

Paul was born September 13, 1934 in Dexter, NM to Ernest and Inez and (Standley) Hodges. He attended school in Carlsbad and later finished school at the one room school house at Dog Canyon. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He married Edna Marrs April 19, 1960 in Roswell, NM.  Paul worked for PCA, AMAX and US Salt before retiring in Feb. of 1996.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. Paul served as a deacon in the Baptist Church both in Arizona and at Hillcrest Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul H. Hodges and granddaughter, Mercedes Diaz.

Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Edna Hodges; daughters: Susie Cone and husband, Robert, Pam Hinojos and husband, Gemini; sons: Mark Hodges and wife, Hyeok, Zane Hodges; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, John Arnold Hodges and wife, Carolyn; sister, Sharon Perry and husband, Carl and numerous nieces and nephews.
