Obituary Paul Ray Gadbury, 59, of Baltros Court, Carlsbad, NM, passed away August 4, 2018 at his home. Visitation will be 5:00 PM 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 10, 2018 at Calvary Assembly of God with Pastor Phillip Price officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Paul Ray Gadbury was born November 21, 1958 in Carlsbad, NM to Calvin and Patsy Margaret (Penner) Gadbury. He married Diane Ross April 7, 1978 here in Carlsbad. Paul worked at Kerr McGee over 30 years as a mechanic. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed racing. Paul liked working with his hands and fixing whatever came before him. He loved his family and friends with his whole heart and would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it. Paul was a God-fearing man and strong in his faith. The light of his life was his granddaughter, Gwen and cherished every moment spent with her. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Gadbury and wife, Linda; mother, Patsy Madera and husband, Malcom; brother, Rodney Gadbury; son, Jeremy Gadbury; stepfather, Wayne Gregory; brothers-in-law, Deno and Gene Shull. Survivors are his wife, Diane Gadbury of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughter, Gwen Corrine Gadbury of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Vicky Shull of Carlsbad, NM; brother, James Strawbridge and wife, Jana of Midland, Texas; brothers-in-law: Donnie Ross and wife, Tresa of Comanche, Oklahoma, Leroy Ross and wife, Debbie of Carlsbad, NM, Ricky Ross and wife, Barbara of Carlsbad, NM; sister-in-law, Pat Shull of Carlsbad, NM; niece, Rhonda Kelley Gadbury; nephew, Chris Gadbury and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
