Patsy Margaret Madera, 81, of Troy Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her home.
Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Nathan Knight officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Patsy Margaret Madera was born July 14, 1933 in Brownwood, Texas to Pat and Margaret (Hudson) Penner. After moving to Carlsbad, she worked for Eddy County Treasurer's office. Later after moving to Roswell she worked for Pecos Valley Lodge for 20 years. Patsy then moved back to Carlsbad where she founded The Spring and worked for several years before retiring. She served as President for the Eddy County Democratic Women, was chairman of the New Mexico Commission on the Status of Women, worked as a hospice volunteer and was a member of Altrusa. She enjoyed painting, dancing and traveling. Patsy loved to spend time with her son and grandchildren. Meema was Gwyneth's biggest fan, always there for dance and cheerleading recitals. Patsy loved her dogs Precious and Missy. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rodney Gadbury; husbands Calvin Gadbury and Malcolm Madera.
Survivors are her son, Paul Gadbury and wife, Diana of Carlsbad, NM; three grandchildren: Rhonda Gadbury of Clute, Texas, Chris Gadbury of Clute, Texas, Jeremy Gadbury of Carlsbad, NM; seven great-grandchildren: Gwyneth, Kelly, Cassiy, Chris, Jr., Abby, Michael, Gabriel; brother, Bill Penner and wife, Mitzi of Scurry, Texas; nieces: Kay, Dawn, Cecil; cousins: Angela, Will, Nikolas, Billy, Nickki and dear friend, Pat Shull of Carlsbad, NM.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Gadbury, Chris Gadbury, Jessie Hass, Sammy Slusher, George Ybarra and Roger Shull.
