Patsy A. McClure

Patsy A. McClure, 81, of Bindel Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014, at Carlsbad Medical Center. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Randy Land officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Patsy A. McClure was born on March 15, 1932, in Clovis, NM, to C.E. and Anna (Porter) Hunt. She moved to Carlsbad with her family as a child. Patsy worked at the Caverns as a young woman where she met Charles McClure while working in the underground lunchroom. They married May 22, 1950, here in Carlsbad. Patsy worked for Sears many years before retiring in 1991. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Leslie Hunt, Glenn Hunt and Frank Hunt. Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Charles W. McClure of Carlsbad, NM; children: Vivian Hunt and husband, Steve of Glendale, Arizona, Wesley McClure and wife, Lisa of Mesa, Arizona, Robin VanNatta of Carlsbad, New Mexico; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Britton of Peculiar, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jared VanNatta, Casey McClure, Steve Hunt, Robert Bradford and Christian Charron.
