Patricia Ann Younger

Patricia Ann Younger, 90, of Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Patricia was born on October 31, 1931, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin to Edward and Elizabeth Reed.

There will be no visitation, and a graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM with Deacon Manuel Chavez officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia grew up in the Appleton, WI area, and after graduating high school, she married Harold Jerome Younger on September 15, 1951. They then started their family of three children: Patrick Younger, Kathleen Younger, and Mike Younger, and raised them in Denver, CO. Then in 1976 they moved to Carlsbad, NM where they purchased the Lehman Paint and Hardwood Store. After Harold’s passing in 1991, Patricia continued working at the store until her retirement. She enjoyed dancing, listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival, watching scary movies, drinking her Coors Light, and watching the Denver Broncos. Most of all, Patricia loved her family, and spending quality time with them. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Edward Reed; mother, Elizabeth Reed; husband, Harold Jerome Younger; son, Patrick Younger; granddaughter, Angela M. Younger; and six siblings: Frankie, Edward, Marie, Lucille, Virginia, and Bridgett.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Marie Younger of Carlsbad, NM; son, Michael Bennet Younger and wife, Mary of Carlsbad, NM; four grandchildren: Jeff T. Spillman wife Beth, Carly M. Younger, Bobby Ernest, and Jeremy Ernest; three great-grandchildren: Nick Spillman, Harold Spillman, and Jeremiah Otero-Ernest; and numerous nieces and nephews.
