Otilia "Tillie" Sosa, 81, of Colfax Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away June 11, 2015 at her home.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at San Jose Catholic Church
A Vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2015, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2015, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Cordero officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Otilia "Tillie" Sosa was born to Bennie and Jesusita (Cantano) Morrison in Artesia, New Mexico on October 6, 1933. She married Bernie D. Sosa on November 24, 1951 in Artesia, NM and they moved to Carlsbad where Bernie and Tillie co-owned the Vacuum and Sewing Center for 40 years. She was an active member of San Jose and served as an Eucharistic Minister also serving the sick. Tillie loved cooking for her family while always encouraging them to go to church. She cherished the time helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always available as a caregiver when needed. Tillie was a member of the Third Order of Franciscans and the Poor Clare Monasteries in Roswell, NM and a strong supporter of the Poor Clare Monastery of the Immaculate Conception in Palos Park, Illinois. Tillie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernie Sosa; brothers: Frank and David Morrison; sisters: Helen Aguilar, Nancy Juarez; granddaughter, Yvette Valenzuela and one great-grandson.
Survivors are her daughters: Katie Salazar of Carlsbad, NM, Mother Victress Amata Rose of Palos Park, Illinois, Yvonne Sosa of Carlsbad, NM; son, Bernie "Sonny" Sosa, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Virginia Pacheco of Yorba Linda, CA, Janie Bernard of Lubbock, TX and extended family members of the Poor Clare Monasteries in Palos Park, IL.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Lopez, Christopher Valenzuela, Gabriel Vera, Jaime Dominguez, Anthony Sosa and Armando Vera. Honorary pallbearers are David Sosa and Lance Montoya.
