Oscar V. Granado

Oscar V. Granado, 70, of Loving, NM passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Oscar was born on October 29, 1952, in Loving, NM to Domingo and Fidela Granado.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation. A vigil is scheduled for 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed online at dentonwood.com

Oscar grew up in Loving, NM and after finishing school, he started his working career. He spent many years working in the potash mines, and then went to work doing road construction, and then finally retired after working at LP Gas. Oscar enjoyed getting in the truck & cruising with his longtime friend Manuel and/or his favorite dogs, Tina & Sugar. Oscar had a great sense of humor, always cracking jokes or having a smart remark in which he kept even in his last days. 

He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, and getting to be apart of his grandchildren’s lives. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Oscar was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Granado; mother, Fidela (Valenzuela) Granado; and brother, Ernest Granado.

Oscar is survived by his three children: Bonnie Franco and husband, Oscar of Loving, NM; Oscar Granado, Jr. and Audry Hernandez of Loving, NM; and Chelsey Flores and husband, Gio of Carlsbad, NM; ten grandchildren: Kendra Salas (Justin), Samantha Franco (Christian), Oscar Granado III, Keyna Granado, Izayiha Granado, Reyna Granado, Gavyn Wages, Garrett Wages, Gianeley Flores, and Cianey Flores; four great grandchildren: Cameron Rico, Ivan Rico, Laurynn Salas, and Joslynn Salas; brother, Adan Granado and wife, Anita of Loving, NM; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
