Orville Joslin, 89, of Rincon Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Orville Joslin was born August 31, 1927 in Jumbo, Oklahoma to Clarence E. and Lois (Noland) Joslin and graduated from Antlers High School in Antlers, Oklahoma. He married Ruth Vanzant May 30, 1954 here in Carlsbad. Orville worked as a hoistman for PCA. He was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and pastored at the Loving Assembly of God. Orville was an outdoor enthusiast spending time hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth Joslin of Carlsbad, NM; son, Randy Joslin and wife, Debbie of Farmington, NM; daughter, Pam Patrick of Carlsbad, NM. Grandchildren: Eric Joslin and wife, Nicole; Tiffany Kincaid and husband, Josh; Seth Joslin; Nathan Patrick and wife, Brandi; and Lauren Patrick. Great-grandchildren: Hayden, Ashton, Connor, Sophia, Zoe, Jaxin, Zayne, Kolton and Oliver; brother: Larry Joslin and wife, Sue; sister: Carol Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter: Heather Joslin; sisters: Evelyn Pound, Anna Lue Franks; brothers: Kenneth Joslin and Harvey Joslin.
Pallbearers are Eric Joslin, Seth Joslin, Josh Kincaid, Nathan Patrick, Scott Fitch and Lauren Patrick.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home and family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 3, 2017, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Price and Pastor Randy Joslin officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
