Obituary
Ocena Holcomb, owner of the North 'Y' Drive-In, passed away October 27, 2020 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place, and a family memorial service will be at a later date. Preceding Ocena in death was her father, Carl: mother, Anna; brothers, Loren and Frank; sister, Dorothy; and son, Rodney. Ocena is survived by sons: Dee Rice & wife Debbie of Tucson, AZ; Lee Rice & wife Annette of Deming, NM; and Percy Holcomb & Cindy Box of Carlsbad NM; Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ocena poured her heart into serving the community at her restaurant for many decades; her unselfish and often silent ways of helping others in so many ways was profound. From early morning coffee drinkers to late evening family dinners, Ocena was happy to be a part of everyone's day. She had a passion for bowling and attended many annual national bowling tournaments with her close friends and sister, Dorothy. She loved her family dearly and was supportive at every opportunity. Despite significant lifetime tragedy she always stood strong, she was unfaltering. Many will remember her witty sense of humor, strong work ethic and her giving heart. She loved casino trips and dancing the night away. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and her loved ones.
