Nolasco Juarez Franco

Nolasco J. Franco, 92, of Concho Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at his home. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 26, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Nolasco J. Franco was born January 30, 1925 in Jayton, Texas to Jose Dolores and Maria (Juarez) Franco. He attended elementary school in Mexico. He was a farmer and cowboy as a young man working for his father, taking care of animals. He moved to Van Horn, Texas in 1991. In 1996, Nolasco retired from ranching and moved to Carlsbad. He married Lillian in June 1997. Nolasco enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Lillian. Survivors are his brothers: Isaac Franco of Carlsbad, NM; step-children: Roberta Gail Jones of Carlsbad, NM, Patricia Elaine Vigil of Carlsbad, NM, Edith Colleen McCabe of Albuqurque, NM, Narda Christine Gallegos of Carlsbad, NM, Norman Dale Gallegos of Carlsbad, NM, Arsenio Gallegos of Elko, Nevada, Eunice Gallegos of Carlsbad, NM, Holly Daphine Gallegos of Carlsbad, NM, Iris Danielle Doerr of Roswell, NM, Natalie Noel Gallegos of Carlsbad, NM, Nathan Joel Gallegos of Carlsbad, NM, Matthew Ermer Bailon of Albuquerque, NM, Amy Lilliana Gallegos of Roswell, NM and numerous grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Steven Garcia, Randy Sanchez, Eric Garcia, Arsenio Jones, Jason Vigil and Amy Paz Gallegos, and John Welch. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
