Neva "Louise" Yantis (Nana)

Neva "Louise" Yantis (Nana), 78, of Eddy Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away March 6, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, March 12, 2010, 3:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Neva "Louise" Yantis (Nana) was born July 25, 1931 in Mineral Wells, TX to Clarence Lee and Ruby Que (Morgan) Hamric. She met and married Aaron "Bob" Yantis on May 19, 1950 in Roswell, NM. She was employed for 25 years at Carlsbad National Bank. She thoroughly enjoyed it. Later in life she became her husband's caregiver, keeping her independence through it all. Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was an excellent cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, in 2001; son, Robert Earl Yantis in 2001 and a sister, Dolores Lee Powell in 1975. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jane Martin and husband, Kenneth of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughter, Erin Louise Huber of Artesia, NM; great-granddaughters: Ashlea Cobos, Alysa Cobos, Alexandrea Cobos; granddaughter, Joslyn Tomlinson and husband, Steve of Chalfort, Pennsylvania; great-granddaughters: Athena Tomlinson and Amara Tomlinson; granddaughter, Marisa Yantis and fianc, Ryan Piekert of Austin, TX; grandson, Seth Yantis of Pflugerville, TX; great-granddaughter, Heidi Yantis; grandsons: Dan Martin and wife, Stacy of Phoenix, AZ, Terry Martin and wife, Nieva of Peoria, AZ; great-grandchildren: Carmen Martin, Damian Martin, Destiny Martin and Terry Martin, Jr.; aunt, Stella Howard of Carlsbad, NM; sisters-in-law: Novelle Hoover of Texas, Mabry Owen of Texas and Nancy Etcheverry of New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.
