Nellie L. Kirkes Cosgrove

Nellie L. Kirkes Cosgrove, 70, of E. Orchard Lane, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away October 21, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 25, 2010, 2:00 PM, at Landmark Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis W. McKinley officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Nellie L. Kirkes Cosgrove was born November 26, 1939 in Loving, New Mexico to Clarence Roland and Faye (Laxon) Goff. She grew up in Carlsbad and attended school in both Loving and Carlsbad. Nellie worked in various jobs in the early years including Food Jet and Mini-Mart. She went to work for Eddy Federal Credit Union in 1979 where she served as a loan officer retiring in 1999. Nellie enjoyed reading and gardening. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Becky Dinges; sons: Mike Cosgrove and Christopher Kirkes and two brothers, James Goff and Rodney Goff. Survivors are daughter, Melanie Williams and husband, Tommy of Carlsbad, NM; five grandchildren: Jessica Evanoff and husband, Nathan, Reanne Rodriguez and husband, Joe, Michelle Cosgrove, Jodi Saltzman and husband, Eric and Chelsea Frintz and husband, Troy; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Lofton; five brothers: Scott Cassels, Russell Cassels, Harold Cassels, Gene Cassels and Jerry Cassels.
