Nancy Jean McKellips

Nancy Jean McKellips, 41, of West Church Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2015, 2:30 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis W. McKinley officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Nancy Jean McKellips was born April 1, 1973 in Elgin, Illinois to Patrick A. and Nancy Jean (Nyrkkanen) Pruitt. She moved to Carlsbad as a young girl. Nancy graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1990. She was a wonderful mother, loving wife and had a big heart for her family and friends. Survivors are her husband, John McKellips of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Shyra Wyatt and husband, Justin of Carlsbad, NM; son, Charles Reed, II of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Kristopher Wyatt and Kittrick Wyatt; mother, Nancy Hartman of Carlsbad,NM; father, Patrick Pruitt of Georgia; sister, Wendy Hedgecock of Albuqueruqe, NM; brother, Mark Hartman of Albuquerque, NM and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
