Myrtis "Marie" Lee Bricker

Myrtis "Marie" Lee Bricker, 80, of Burgundy Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Travis Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Myrtis "Marie" Lee Bricker was born February 29, 1936 in Zwalle, Louisiana to James and Mattie (Murray) Wise. She was raised in Ft. Worth and came to Carlsbad at the age of 22. Marie worked at Wal-Mart, retiring in 1999. She really liked to play Skip Bo with her close friends. Marie enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with her friends, family and visiting with people. She loved her family and grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Trammell; son, Russell Wilson; daughter, Valarie Wilson and husband, William Clyde Bricker. Survivors are her daughter, Sherilyn McCollaum and husband, Ben of Carlsbad, NM; sons: Randy Wilson and wife, Kathy of Carlsbad, NM, Preston Wilson and wife, Cheri of Victoria, Texas; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Curtis Bricker, Randy Wilson, Ben McCollaum, Rowdy Wilson, Preston Wilson and Daniel Bricker; Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
