Obituary Mollie Lou Reese, 92, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2020 at her home in Carlsbad, NM. Visitation will be 4 PM 6PM, Friday, October 2, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for 2 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Carlsbad Cemetery with Gene Reese officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mollie was born March 30, 1928 in Blackburn, Oklahoma to Frank and Hazel Bryant. She married E.M. Reese on June 2, 1950 who preceded her in death on January 16, 2002. Preceding her death was also her parents; son, Curtis Childress and two grandsons: Michael Reese and Steven Reese; two sisters: Mildred Bryant and Onia Vaughan; five brothers: Leslie, Loyd, Jess, JE and Herman Bryant. Mollie is survived by son, Donnie Reese of Carlsbad; daughters: Donna Johnson Shoemake of Carlsbad and LaDora Moore of Zapata, Texas. Mollie is also survived by sisters: Rose Holley, LaJuan Dawes, Frankie Coats, Ethel Graves, Anita Smith, all of Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Huber and Marcia Hays, both of Carlsbad and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mollie was a very caring lady. She worked tirelessly as a nurse caring for the young and old in hospitals, nursing homes and home care. After retiring, she volunteered at the Community Action Center in Carlsbad as a companion. Mollie loved fishing and camping with her family and friends. She also was an amazing cook and loved to have her family over for Sunday dinner. She will surely be missed by all who knew her.
