Mildred P. "Millie" Dean was born October 3, 1930 in Presidio, TX to Jim and Winnie (James) Payne. She graduated from high school in Weed, NM. Millie married Clifton Dean on August 12, 1948. They moved to their Berlin Ranch in the Brokeoff Mountains where they sheep ranched and raised their children. Later they moved to Crow Flat so the kids could attend high school where she remained the rest of her life. Millie was a great seamstress, cook and enjoyed writing and reading. Her most recent enjoyment was watching the PBR with Clifton and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Dorothy Wills, Babe Bell; brother, Jack Payne and aunt, Bertha Driver.
Survivors are husband, Clifton H. Dean, five children: Winnamae Gage and husband, Nick of Artesia, NM, Crockett Dean and wife, Pam of Dell City, TX, Becky Walker and husband, Dennis of Sierra Blanca, TX, Francis Dean of Horizon City, TX and Quentin Dean and wife, Dana of Crow Flat, NM, 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
